Privacy Policy
Last updated November 7, 2026
Ghost is a messenger with a personal AI agent (your "Ghost") built in. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, or the identifier and (if you share them) name and relay email that Sign in with Apple gives us.
- Profile: display name, username and profile photo you choose.
- Your content: messages and photos you send and receive, friend connections, the public lines you approve for your Ghost, your Ghost's private memory, and task cards.
- Device data: a push notification token so we can notify you of new messages.
- Diagnostics: crash and error reports from our servers, which may include technical identifiers.
We do not read your contacts, track your location, show ads, or sell or share your data with data brokers.
How we use it
- To deliver your messages and photos, and to show who wrote each message.
- To run your Ghost: when Ghost Mode is on, when you talk to your Ghost, or when you use AI write, the relevant conversation text is sent to an AI model to draft a reply.
- To review reports of abusive content and keep Ghost safe.
- To fix bugs and keep the service running.
AI processing
Ghost uses DeepSeek's API to generate Ghost replies and AI drafts. For these features, the text of the relevant messages, the public lines you approved, and (to check that nothing private leaks) your Ghost's private memory are sent to DeepSeek for processing. Your Ghost's private memory is never included in replies to other people. We only send what a feature needs.
Who processes your data
- Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
- DeepSeek: AI model that powers your Ghost and AI write.
- Expo and Apple Push Notification service: delivering notifications.
- Sentry: server error reports.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Me → Delete account. This deletes your profile, messages you sent, your Ghost, its public lines and private memory. Copies in database backups are removed as those backups expire. Messages other people sent you stay in their copy of the conversation.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, or ask for a copy, by emailing zhyabs@gmail.com. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Children
Ghost is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and access is limited by per-user rules in our database. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong sign-in method.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
